Self portrait

Self portrait to represent myself as an artist

(work in progress)

Who am I?

I am a versatile artist able to adapt to multiple styles, briefs and formats. I have skills that are very employable within many of the creative fields. I have some experience doing commission work as well as experience working for companies and organisations, for example the British Ceramics Biennial. I have multiple professional references and I have worked with multiple charities.

Where do I want to go?
I want to work for a company to begin with, not as a freelancer, because I want to feel stability in my income. I want to create links to other professionals who I can work and collaborate with throughout my career. I am especially interested in advertising, editorial and publishing.

What am I about?
I care deeply about the impact of my work and the ethics of illustration. I have always been passionate about education and animal rights, these are things I would like to create meaningful work for. I am a little concerned about working in advertising if it may mean I have to work to represent companies that I don't align with, this is something I need to think about more. I appreciate scientific and educational illustration, and have a passion for animation even though I am not too skilled in that area.

What do I want to achieve?
I want to make a decent income from my work, I want to eventually lead on projects and I want to continue my creative practice alongside paid work to create stories and spread messages that are meaningful for me. I really want to be in a position where I can support my family and continue to do the rescue work that I do with animal charities.
